The reason for this episode is because I  see a lot of you who are starting a business either online or let’s say a real estate business or another service business, that you delay telling the world what you’re doing because you wait till you get ready, you wait till your business cards are done, until your website is completed, until your CRM is set up… and I can tell you right now to stop this pattern.

Why?

Because you’ll never be ready to start.

Let me tell you what is happening… You stay busy creating your business cards, designing your logo, your creatives, your profiles on social media, your website… and you want everything to be perfect, and that’s fine BUT you started this business to make money, and in order to stay in business you need to make money because if you don’t want to make money then I guess you should start a non-profit or work for someone.

There it is, I said it.

About 6 or 7 years ago when I started my own independent brokerage, I wanted to build a custom website that was unique and original and had all the services and options needed, so to separate me apart of the competition, and I wanted to learn how to do it myself, I wanted to have my own hosting … and all of it was great only that it took me 90 days till I perfected it and I was so busy working on it, so I was not making any sales.

What I’m saying is okay to have an online presence and to look professional online unless you have a short deadline, let’s say get my website done this weekend or get my business card designed  in 2 hours, you might find yourself spending weeks and even months in the hamster wheel of being busy in passive activities that don’t add up to your bottom line.

I found that we are all doing everything in our business BACKWARDS.

Here is what I want you to do from now on especially if you’re just starting a service business and you want to start generating leads online and start making the money first BEFORE you invest your time and money into building a website first.

 Start Simple with the End in Mind: 

 What do I mean? Start with One Offer and Your End Goal and a Deadline attached to this Goal, and start Building everything from There.

I’ll give you an example with one of my offers in my former real estate business, so you understand what I mean.

My End Goal was to Close 5 Home Buyers in 90 Days or Less from Today, and My End Offer was to Help them Find & Close on Their Dream Home Fast w/ No Hassle and Giving them $ 1K credit towards their Closing Costs when they sign to work with me.

So, I built a Content Marketing Strategy to get them from where they were ( strangers) to become clients of mine.

First I put all the milestones, my customer’s journey in this case my potential homebuyer goes from a stranger to become a raving fan and hire me to help them with their home purchase in 90 Days or Less.

First Step was to create marketing to get their attention and interest first and get them to become a follower on SM but also most importantly get them on my email list. 

I created  3 types of videos and posts addressing their pain points and a Lead Magnet which I think was a checklist to capture all leads and get them on my list.

I ran FB Ads to start bringing awareness and also build an invisible list to retarget later.

Next, I wanted to have a way to nurture the leads who opted in to my list, so I created a sequence of 7 emails that were triggered to go immediately after someone opted in on my list.

Next, I had my weekly blog posts that I was emailing to my list weekly to stay top of mind with always having a call to action in my PS. 

Once I got this cycle going, the next strategy was to give them even more free value by presenting a Live Webinar called I think it was “ The 8  Mistakes Even Smart Home Buyers make”.. Something like that.

So I created the Webinar Funnel, and started running conversion Facebook Ads to my invisible list that I was already building thorough my video views and engagement ads for better conversion.

And then had the Live Webinar twice weekly, giving value and at the end making my $ 1000 Closing Costs Offer if They sign a BAA with me within the next 72 hours.

Next I went even further and have created an evergreen funnel using the webinar recording.

This might be a little too much for some of you but my point is that having a website out there is not going to help you generate leads, you can easily do it with creating 1 landing page funnel and having end to end strategy behind.

And of course have a way to bring traffic to it either organically investing a lot of your time being out there and networking with people online or through paid or even affiliate marketing where you invest your money to free up some time.

Lets’ wrap it up with the main points we’ve covered today:

 

  • Set up a SMART goal with a deadline. SMART stays for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound.
  • Work everything backwards, set up the milestones from where your ideal person is right now to where they want to be aka you’re actually helping them with this.
  • Create an Action Plan and Chuck Each Milestone to the bite size doable tasks and schedule everything on your calendar, so it’s good as done.
  • Follow through your schedule and start building each milestone and publish it in the stages  you set up for your launch ( yes, this is what I mean when i say launch).
  • Evaluate your launch , twerk it and launch it again… and again… until you get the results you want.
